Traveler's Rest is another really awesome place to tour. Located in Toccoa, GA, this stagecoach inn and plantation is such a gem to tour. There just aren't many places like this. Finding a place that is so well preserved with authentic furniture and items inside is just not very common. The home was built in 1815 and gave travelers on the Unicoi Turnpike a place to stay for the night, with some food-usually only a quarter for a plate of food! But paying for a bed wasn't like renting a hotel room today. You often would get stuck sharing a bed with someone you didn't even know! Anyway, when touring this beautiful place, there is a video you can watch that gives some history on it. You can tour at your own pace so you can spend as much time as you would like. There is a map that you can get at the beginning that will also tell you what each thing is. This place was just so cool and I highly recommend you stopping in and checking it out if you are in the area! Adults are $5.50, youth (6-17) are $4.50, and children under 6 are $1.25. If your kids enjoy doing the Junior Ranger books, you can also get the booklet here and complete it and get your badge!
