Edgar Evins State Park

Located in Silver Point, Tennessee, Edgar Evins is a small state park on the edges of Center Hill Lake. This park is a very good park for boaters, people staying in or renting out houseboats, or just want to bring their boat out for a day of fishing. We stayed in the cabins for a few nights and we really enjoyed our stay in this park. I don't know how the weather usually is, but when we were here, it was HOT. We were red-faced and sweating just carrying our things into the cabin. We were so happy that there was a pool for cabins guests and it felt ahhhh-mazing. For me to just dive in, it feels good. We figured the pool would be like most other state park pools where its just a concrete hole filled with water and a fence around it, but this one actually had some pretty shrubbery and some tables and lounge chairs. There was also some picnic tables and grills as well as a fire pit with swings around it right above the pool. The park itself was a bit small with not a whole awful lot to do. There were a few hiking trails, a very small playground, the boating area and Marina, and there was an interpretive center with an aviary beside it that was very awesome to go in and check out. There is a restaurant at the marina but it has very weird hours. For a place that serves a lot of lunch and dinner foods, it is only open from 7-11.

Cabins:

The cabins are not exactly 'cabins.' They are 6 buildings, each building consisting of 6 cabins. Everyone shares a parking lot like a hotel. The cabins are actually really cool and the price is a steal. They are a split level, where you walk in and upstairs is the kitchen, dining area and living room with a TV, also a balcony. Halfway down the stairs is the bathroom, and the bottom floor is the bedroom. The beds were some of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. The cabin had everything we needed and was well stocked. The ones we stayed in had two beds and pull out sofa, but I believe you can rent some with an extra bedroom. Each building has a large grill above it that is a first come first serve basis. We never had a problem having access to it, and if you do, there are other grills below the cabins near the pool area. The pool is within walking distance and has some pathways that lead to it.
