This was such a cute little park that had history, but was also updated at the same time. We had booked a weekend here in a yurt during the fall. This was our first time ever coming to this park, and we loved it. I was actually just getting over being sick, so we did not get to do as many active things as we would have liked, but I noticed that they had some very nice paved biking/walking trails. They also a swimming beach, but it was too cold for us to swim at that point. We enjoyed taking some food over by the fort and having a little picnic by it. And of course there were playgrounds.
Yurts:
These yurts were some of our favorites because every one of them were overlooking the lake. We had a small backporch that hung over the lake and we loved it. We got to see a few small turtles while sitting out there. This is a yurt village where you have to carry your stuff in a bit, and this is the first yurt we've really had to do that. Most yurts allow you to park close enough that you don't have to carry stuff a good ways. Luckily, each yurt had it's very own wagon for you to use, so you don't have to worry about someone else using them. The yurt had a bunk bed, table and chairs, a shelf, a couch and a chair with an ottoman. It was very cozy and comfortable. We had a really great time and we actually plan to come back when we can swim and hike and do more.
