AH Stephens was a cute little quiet park. We got to stay in one of their four cabins during our stay. The park was so quiet and we barely saw any people the entire time. We loved the cute small pond that was right beside the Visitor Center. There was a small lake behind the cabins, but there was no where to swim unless you rented out the summer camp within the park. There were a few small walking trails you could take, one of them being paved. The cabin was very cute and rustic, and we loved our back porch that overlooked the lake. The campground was a small loop with the tower in the middle.

Because we stayed during the week, the museum/house was not open to tour. We were very disappointed to not get to do that, so make sure to plan to go on a weekend! At the time of our stay, the playground was just being redone, so the kids were able to play on most of it, but it was covered in mud. If you are looking for a quiet stay where you just hang out in your cabin or campground, then this park would be great for you. But if you are looking for a little more, like swimming or putt-putt, you may want to go elsewhere. Everyone here was incredibly nice and I have no complaints about our stay. We probably won't really be back just simply because the kids want a little more to do like swimming.

If you do plan to stay, make sure you bring plenty of groceries to make it through your stay! The town that surrounds the park is....well kind of weird. It was amazingly cute and we had a nice time walking it, but it made me feel like I was in House of Wax. There were all these stores that were padlocked, with stuff inside that looked like it was there since the 70s. I think we saw one place that was open. Maybe one car also. But up the road, there was a Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar all right next to each other.

Overall:

Cabins:
The cabins were rustic and cute. They were bit outdated, but we didn't mind it too much. Our favorite thing was the screened-in back porch that overlooked the lake. Each cabin has its own boat that you can rent to paddle around the lake. There were only 4 cabins and although you could see the other cabins, there was plenty of space between them. The grill was in the front, and there was no picnic table out there. That was a small disappointment as we love having our dinners outside.
