Overall:

Hands Down. One of our absolute FAVORITE state parks ever. For sure. I love love love parks with history. I love parks where the buildings and cabins show that history. This park is just that. The whole park is just cute, quaint and rustic. It is so beautiful with phenomenal views. That Visitor Center...oh my! I love going in there. It is awesome seeing the old building with the cast iron handles and iron work all over it. The super cute little pond is so relaxing to sit next to, and the little turtles were just so fun to watch. And that pool! I wanted to get into that pool so bad. It is so big, but it's not deep and it was so warm. I just knew a spring fed pool was about to be freezing, but no. Two hours went by like it was nothing. Because it is spring-fed, there's not all the chemicals of a normal pool, and you can't bring in your own floats or items. Cost was $7 per person. There are hiking trails all over this park, so you can find plenty to explore. Most parks have free trail maps, but you have to buy one here at the park, so keep that in mind beforehand if you want to research the trails. Besides the cabins, there is also a campground. There is a Visitor Center and Trading Post. You can't swim in the lake, but you can rent out canoes and kayaks. As I mentioned, there is the pool, plenty of hiking trails, and a playground.

                   Cabins:

These cabins were absolutely breathtaking and I am so glad that we got the one that we did. Not all of the cabins looked like this, so getting number 10 was awesome. When you first walk in, you will have to open the original, old door with the iron handle. The inside was beautiful logs with a double fireplace. The kitchen and bathroom were updated, but everything else was original. You can also book original cabins that overlook the mountain, too, up past the Visitor Center. We had a nice screened-in porch, and we had a small snake visitor. We loved being right by the lake because we would just take little walks around the lake. The ONLY complaint we had about the cabin is that because it is an authentic old cabin, it has a bit of a musty smell. My friend that was with me got such a bad migraine the second night from it. It didn't subside until we left.
