Old Stone Fort is a state park located in Manchester, TN. It was built about 1500-2000 years ago. Native Americans used this area continuously for about 500 years. But when the white settlers came in, they were unsure what the area had been used for. You can now hike a trail that follows along the rock wall. There is a Visitor Center that has a small interpretive center inside to learn all about it. We stopped in on our way to Henry Horton State Park because it was a 4 hour drive. We needed a quick break, and because I love history, I wanted to check it out. The park was very unclear about where the ruins are. On top of the Visitor Center is a rock structure-pictured below- that we thought was the fort. We walked along a trail for a bit, but we didn't really find anything. So I don't think we saw everything. I would love to stop back by when we have more time to explore. You can camp here, hike and fish, but that's about it. It's not really a good park for a weekend trip, but more for a quick day trip.
