Stone Mountain Park- Christmas

Unfortunately, I am not able to say as much as I would like, or show many pictures of the Stone Mountain Christmas event. We had bought the yearly membership in 2021, so that is why we went at Christmas. Normally, money would be so tight during this time that we don't do much traveling. But we decided to go because of the membership. We were staying the weekend in a nearby hotel. When we got to the park on Saturday, it was actually pretty busy. There was a long line to get tickets. We waited in the line to get our wristbands, and literally as we step to the side to put them on, my son just throws up all over the ground. He hadn't been feeling bad before, but now he says he feels awful. We sit and wait a bit and get him a drink, but he still says he just feels too bad. I would hate to have to walk around all day when you just feel so sick, so we decided to just go get to Target, make him a little bed in the cart, and get the kids some toys to make up for their missed day, and some ginger ale and medicine for him. We had a good evening just hanging out in the hotel room.

On Sunday though, we were able to go back since we had the membership. We had to head home that evening though, so we were not able to stay late. The park was decorated really pretty and where all the pumpkins had been just two months before was now all presents. The dinosaurs all had presents and Santa hats. We did notice that all of the lights seemed to be the same as the pumpkin Festival, so it wasn't as dramatic seeing all the lights. The 4D theater was playing the Polar Express. It was a bit chilly, so that makes walking around and sitting on the train a little bit harder than in the Fall or Spring. Overall, it was really pretty and just like with Halloween and Fall, Christmas is another of our favorite times and we love getting out and doing any Christmas events. But unless we have the membership, we most likely wouldn't spend the extra money to come back for the Christmas event here. I feel the money was much better spent in the Fall and Spring.
