Hey there! I'm Kasey, just a mama who lives in the North Georgia Mountains. I have two kids (Helena and Slade) and they are my absolute favorite travel companions! Together, we go to as many state parks and historic sites in GA & TN as we can. We love the parks, we love nature, and we love rustic cabins. I am in school for Parks and Recreation Management, and it is our dream to manage and live in a park. Whether you plan to just visit one of these locations or you plan to stay, whether you have kids or not, I hope these reviews give you a good glimpse of what these awesome parks are really like! Kasey: I'm the mama! And obviously the woman behind the site...and the bookings and the driving and the planning and the packing...but I love it all. I have loved going on adventures since I was a kid. It's not always about going to a new fancy place, but about going to a new place with my family. Besides traveling, I am obsessed with books. I have a huge collection of books and never go anywhere without one. I prefer books to people. I love gardening and working in my yard. I am a vintage lover and wish I could go back to the 50s. I love historic places and hate just about anything modern. I am an animal lover and right now we have a German Shepherd Rusty, an African Clawed Frog Jellybean (Fatty Frog or Fat Face), and a hoard of stray cats. I have tried to domesticate raccoons and opossums before (shhh). Helena: At the time of this writing, Helena is 10 years old and is in 4th grade. She loves art and can spend hours drawing and making crafts. She makes amazing dragon puppets and animal masks and was even featured in a local art show. She is obsessed with frogs and our house is covered in her frog stuffies. She also loves to play with Legos, Minecraft and Roblox. Helena is incredibly smart and plans to be an artist one day. Her grades are in the 90th percentile for her grade!
Slade: At the time of this writing, Slade is 8 years old. Slade loves to travel with us and is the sweetest little boy. He loves snacks and Minecraft and Roblox. He isn't as outdoorsy as Helena and I, but it's usually not too hard to get him out to do stuff. He's a typical little boy that can watch gamers on Youtube for hours and hours. He loves turtles and he is the best stuffed animal daddy ever. He's my little buddy. He is the best little boy and is constantly being sent home with good notes from his teachers.
